Creating Change in
Long-Term Care Facilities
Giving Voice.
Empowering People.
Our Philosophy

At Ombudsman Services of Contra Costa County, we see aging as a natural and normal state of life deserving of respect and dignity. We understand that aging has it’s own set of unique challenges and difficulties that may include moving into a long-term care facility, and that it is our job to empower these residents and help to protect their right to personal choice and safety.

What Our Community Has to Say

  • "Being a volunteer ombudsman makes me feel good about giving back to the community. I'm helping people to navigate through their lives with dignity. When our help is needed  we can make them feel like their individuality and humanity is being respected."

  • "Volunteering as an Ombudsman for over 11 years has given me the opportunity to "give back" and to help one of the most vulnerable segments of our community.  Being able to make a difference in a person's life is truly a gift."
